NewFound Families has created the Family Support Collaborative, a network of communities and state partners actively engaged in providing support services to adoptive, foster, and kinship families.

This network will work in concert with one another to share knowledge, resources, skills and opportunities that will more fully support the spectrum of needs of Virginia’s adoptive, foster, and kinship families.  Each member of the Family Support Collaborative has agreed to provide support to families through in-person and webinar trainings, special education advocacy, peer-to-peer support and mentoring for families struggling with mental health illnesses, recruitment of adoptive families for waiting children and retention of foster families; and development of state-wide online networks connecting families in each region with resources to obtain needed household or child-specific items.

Map of FACES support groupsNewFound Families builds support networks, and support networks build families. Support is an essential ingredient for any family-based organization.  We believe that mutual support strengthens families.  We work with local and private agencies to develop family-run peer support networks, so that families can learn from one another and develop relationships.

To the right is a Virginia Map which will allow you to locate support groups and member agencies in your area. If you are interested in having your support group or member agency listed on our website, simply send us an email at with the information about your support group or member agency and we will be happy to add it to the list.

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Attach-China/International families have used each of these attachment therapists and recommend them. Not every therapist is right for each family. It is up to you to choose a therapist and a therapy style that works for your family.
